Bachelorette Parties

Hen Parties

Ever wondered why the bachelorette party is also called a Hen Party?

To start with the basics, a hen is a name given to the female of any species of bird.

In 1940, First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, used the term when she hosted a Christmas event at The White House. As she’d invited women only, she chose to refer to it as a hen party.

Although the event didn’t have anything to do with weddings…if it’s good enough for the First Lady, it’s good enough for us, right? Exactly.

Anyways, this is a special night. From this point on, your bestie will be stepping in to a new permanent role, responsibilities and officially adult life.

She’d be grateful if you can send her off with a night to remember. Lots of fun activities, food and booze. Do not forget the last one. You know as soon as the girls are dressed up the camera clicks will not stop. So, a pretty balloon backdrop will add spectacular color to this special party.
